KeyOn Augments Presence in Iowa With Purchase of Onawave Wireless  

 

Rural UniFi program continues to gain momentum with seventh acquisition

 

OMAHA, NE (November 9, 2010) -- KeyOn Communications Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB: KEYO), one of the largest providers of wireless broadband, satellite video and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services in the United States, announced today it has completed its acquisition of substantially all of the wireless broadband assets of Onawave Wireless which increases the company’s already expansive network footprint in Iowa. Onawave Wireless represents the third acquisition of network assets and subscribers in Iowa under Rural UniFi since its inception in the fourth quarter of 2009.

 

Rural UniFi is a strategic acquisition initiative designed for independent wireless broadband companies to realize immediate value from their networks by being acquired by or merging with KeyOn. This acquisition is KeyOn’s seventh acquisition under the Rural UniFi program, and the company’s eleventh acquisition overall.

 

Jason Lazar, KeyOn’s Vice President of Corporate Development and General Counsel, stated, “The purchase of Onawave adds to our operations in Iowa and allows us to reduce operating costs by integrating an adjacent KeyOn network into a single Internet termination point. As a result, this transaction is immediately accretive.”
