Intellicheck Mobilisa Announces Issuance of US Patent

US Patent No. 7,899,751 Claims Priority to Original Intellicheck Patent

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash.--()--Intellicheck Mobilisa (NYSE AMEX: IDN) announced today a new patent issued from the US Patent Office that strengthens and expands IDN’s commanding and exclusive lead in technology related to the authentication systems of drivers licenses. IDN’s exclusive technology began with its first patent issued in 1996. The new Patent reinforces IDN’s innovation in this technology and the variety of uses it provides.

The patent allows for verifying and authenticating the encoded information on driver licenses of all 50 states and other North American driver licenses, and allows the information to be electronically transferred in a secure environment to a local or remote jurisdiction for age verification, organ donor, or criminal activity checks critical in fighting both crime and terrorism.

Intellicheck Mobilisa’s patent portfolio contains 9 U.S. patents, 2 Canadian patents and 1 European patent, each focused on the technologies behind driver license scanning and authentication. The company’s proprietary technology is utilized in its mobile devices that are capable of reading barcodes, magnetic stripes, RFID and OCR codes printed on current forms of ID cards.

“This latest patent issuance reinforces our position as a leader in ID reading technology,” stated Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa. “Our patent portfolio is a key value driver for the company and this latest patent solidifies our position as a forerunner in ID scanning and authentication.”
