WASHINGTON & ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has selected Dell from numerous competitive bids to provide client PC technology and services for more than 1,200 sites nationwide. The four-year, $476 million contract will provide the VA with approximately 600,000 PCs and monitors.
Dell will provide deployment services and support to the VA and will help the agency to continue to transform its end-user computing environment to improve access, manageability and security. Using Intel’s latest technology to enhance asset visibility and enterprise security, the new solutions also will improve flexibility and mobility among VA employees and enable the organization to more quickly transition to efficient solutions like desktop virtualization.
Dell has selected several service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses to support managed deployment services to the VA’s 1,200 sites. Those partners include Four Points Technology, HMS Technologies, Arma Systems, Cliveden and Alpha Ten. The new contract marks the continuation of a longstanding relationship between Dell and the VA. Dell had been providing client PC technology and support to the agency under a previous competitively bid three-year contract.
