Jefferies Adds to Global Fixed Income Business

Paul Kopsky Joins in Mortgage Trading to Focus on Military Housing

NEW YORK--()--In the continued development of the firm’s Fixed Income Division, Jefferies today announced the appointment of Paul W. Kopsky as a Managing Director in the firm’s Military Housing Mortgage business. He will be responsible for sourcing and originating military housing bond issue transactions.

Jefferies’ Global Mortgage- and Asset-Backed Securities group includes approximately 100 sales, trading and origination professionals in the U.S., London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Jefferies’ broader fixed income business now has nearly 525 professionals globally who are focused on the sales and trading of investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.

Mr. Kopsky brings to Jefferies more than 25 years of experience and joins the firm from American Stock Transfer and Trust Company, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he was an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Accounting Office for Capmark Financial Group. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) and held a similar role at Nationwide Insurance Group. He previously spent five years as an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Conning Corporation / SwissRe Group and 11 years at KPMG. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BA from Creighton University.
