N Health Finds Panacea for Procurement in Ariba

Bangkok healthcare services provider leverages cloud-based solutions across network of hospitals to remedy soaring costs and inefficiencies

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--As the costs of administering healthcare continue to rise, providers around the world are seeking innovative ways to lower their expenses while maintaining the highest levels of quality and service. And National Healthcare Systems Co., Ltd. (N Health) has found one. N Health, an entity of the Bangkok Hospital Network that delivers outsourced, centralized services of laboratory, accounting, supply chain management (procurement, inventory and logistics), and latterly sterile processing and bio-medical engineering to hospitals in the group, is moving procurement to the Cloud. Under the terms of a newly signed agreement, the company will leverage on-demand technologies from Ariba, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARBA), the leading provider of collaborative business commerce solutions, to drive a standard, best-practice process for procurement through which it can more effectively source goods and services, manage trading relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with them.

“At N Health, our mission is to help hospitals and healthcare organizations around the world achieve competitive advantage by managing an innovative procurement process that yields lower costs and improved operating efficiencies,” said Narongrid Galaputh, Managing Director, N Health. “With Ariba, we can efficiently negotiate and manage contracts and trading relationships through an easily accessible platform that can be shared across facilities.”

To achieve its goals, N Health will use a combination of Ariba Sourcing On-Demand, Ariba Contract Management and Ariba Supplier Information and Performance Management.

With Ariba Sourcing, N Health has access to robust on-demand technology that it can use to improve the complete sourcing lifecycle – from supplier discovery and negotiation to award optimization and savings tracking.

Using Ariba Contract Management, the company can collaboratively create and manage contracts across categories and functions - including legal, procurement and IT - and move beyond basic authoring and document archiving to manage terms and risks and drive compliance with agreements on an enterprise-wide basis.

Through Ariba Supplier Information Management, N Health can quickly identify and assess new sources of supply, rapidly on board approved suppliers, gain a 360-degree view of supplier information and drive continuous corrective actions and improvements across the supply chain.

“Few industries face more intense cost pressure than healthcare,” said Sivakumar Thulasidoss, Managing Director SEA, Greater China & Korea, Ariba. “Leveraging Ariba’s cloud-based solutions, N Health can quickly generate savings and efficiencies that improve both the performance and profits of the hospitals and healthcare organizations it serves.”
